That would certainly take more than a little 'fixing'. I'm assuming they just run a mime track instead?

There are enough background singers there to mask her completely i'm sure.

I was thinking the sound is probably from a dance rehearsal, then applied to the picture. Or maybe she really is that bad. Not sure.

i've had a good look at it. there is no way that it is even her. the vowel sounds and word structure don't even work with the mouth movements (and i am not talk about the syncing). it is just another drunk chick trying to sing. It is a fake.

Actually, she sounds better than I thought.

Maybe they need to pass a law that states " If you lipsync live without telling the audience, you're guilty of defrauding the audience and will have to refund the concert ticket price plus a fine ".

Maybe, but how dumb do you have to be to NOT know there is NO WAY you can move and dance like that and sing. Its physically impossible.

I don't think it's all that bad - after all, she's dancing, not just standing there singing...

Want something bad? Try this:
(YouTube - Enrique Iglesias live haha)))

How do you know? This has been around for years (also as an audio file), long before Youtube even existed...

You mean besides that fact that the audio isn't even close to the video? I don't mean just a time delay either. Or maybe its the fact that he pulls away from the mic but the volume doesn't tail off several times.

There are some folks from Broadway Musicals who'd like to have a word with you about that.

(though you are right, some of the stuff done at concerts these days makes it impossible to sing properly)

The Britney thing is funny as hell, but fake. It shows her at lots of venues over her career, yet the audio never really changes from show to show, mic to mic, proximity doesn't match, etc.

Good fake though.

Point taken, but those singers generally(but not always) aren't singing solo parts while jumping and running. Most of the time the chorus members around them do the dancing. The singers stop in the spotlight.

Depends on the show, which is why I admitted that you were mostly right.

Some folks are just freaks of nature when it comes to that kind of stuff.

I agree , that really looks and sounds like a fake... I once read a BT interview where he was asked what it was like working with Britney. He claims that shes a true Pro in the studio . Intonation and timing were flawless and she was very consistant .

That said i dont find her to be a great singer personally but shes good at what she does.. her baby bubble voice etc...

Best , Rich

I remember when she first started getting popular and she was doing the talk show circuit. All of the shows she was very clearly singing live. She was doing full dance moves and nailing it vocally. Seriously talented.

Just because she sings pop stuff and does shows that are so over the top with such ridiculous expectations that she has to lip sync many of the tunes a lot of people say she can't sing, but that's just not the case.... although, she's had a few booz/drug/whatever moments that HAVE in fact been hillarious on stage.

Whats wrong with singers today isn't whether they can sing or not, it's whether they can sing with expression and soul... not sing like they have a built in auto tuner, quantizer, etc. What's worse is all the girls that grew up worshiping Britney spears sound like they have a built in auto tuner being ran into another auto tuner. Almost Anyone can sing in tune with enough vocal training

Why has no one mentioned that because she is lip syncing she is not able to hear herself. When you lip sync you're supposed to actually try to sing the parts to make it more realistic, but because you're not listening to your parts (why would you since it's not being used), you're not going to be able to sing very well. Add dancing to that and well, that's what you get.

But since this was being broadcast, the track still has to be recorded so that they can use her talking in between songs. The track in the clip is not being heard by anyone as the audience is hearing the pre-recorded vocal, and only hearing her in between songs as she talks.
