All major rental house can ship you anything (almost) anywhere.

There are plenty of threads on rental companies in this forum.

Do a search or click in the "rental" tag for more information, but I bet you already did that.

I didn't see anything specific to Baltimore and I'm still sifting through threads to see if I can find a someone amenable to shipping.

If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

Thanks!

Perhaps you can extend your search to studios, remote trucks and live sound companies since many of them also rent.

My recommendations would be:

Jim Flynn Rentals
Blackbird
Aura-Sonic

The is not in order of preference, but it's a good start.

Off the top of my head, you have Big Mo and Sheffield in your area.

Also, call my good buddy Marty at ATS communications at 301.754.2871.
He's a great resource and may be able to help you with your search.

Make sure you let them know I sent you.

Let us know how everything worked out.

Steve gave you the best options.

here's one more thought:

locally, MSI (Maryland Sound) is your closest rental house but I doubt they would have quality outboard preamps. Aura and Flynn are top choices for what you need.

Finally, there are also three broadway rental houses in NYC that carry boutique compressors and sometimes preamps, but they won't be Neve 1073's- more like Focusrite, Orban, Aphex, Yamaha. The companies are Masque Sound, PRG Audio, and Sound Associates.

Hope this helps!

You might try here:

Village Sound Company, Inc.

Thanks for the tips.

I used to work for MSI, so I'm pretty sure they don't have the kind of stuff I'm looking for. They are geared more toward live sound. If I wanted a Midas console or a Vertec array they'd be the place to go.

As for Village Sound Company, any time I've stopped in there they've looked at me like I've got three heads when I asked about any high-end recording gear.

I checked the gear lists at Aura and Flynn and saw some things I liked. I'll have to get in touch with someone about them...

Have you tried Washington Music Center in Wheaton? I know they sometimes do rentals, though I'm not certain to what extent. As mentioned before you have some NYC big names like Masque and PRG. I know Masque has some gain ryder 3s. They're reasonable.

Red Penguin Rentals

I already had some e-mail correspondence with Ryan, but I thought I might as well throw my hat in the ring for others searching for regional rentals. I recently launched a high end recording rental company out of Pittsburgh. The website is being developed, but there is a gear list and rate card on the website of the brick and mortar music store we partnered with here in the 'burgh, Hollowood Music. We are targeting local rentals primarily, but are not ruling out regional shipping to meet clients needs in the PA, WV, OH, NY and MD areas. Here are the links:

Hollowood Music and Sound Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

And the site will eventually reside here, once logo and content are finalized:

Red Penguin Rentals :: hi-end outboard recording gear

Let me know if I can be of any more assistance, Ryan!

Thanks,
Doug
