Talking Colts vs Patriots game - Should Crowd Loops be used?

Yesterday while watching the game on CBS at 14:57 in the 4th quarter I heard a crowd loop skip. Too me it sounds like they run the loop to make the game sound like everyone
is constantly yelling. Now this article has appeared:

That's funny and sad at the same time. I wish I would have heard it.

I've heard reports that it can only be heard on the CBS broadcast, and not the radio broadcast, which leads me to believe that CBS is beefing up their sound track. To me, CBS games have always sounded much better than Fox games, and now I know why.

On another note, did you see the commercial for the golden compass movie? I have seen the commercial twice in HD with my surround system on different channels (once during the game). The Center channel is coming out of the right speaker, and the Left Right front seem to be coming out of the Left front and the right surround. Very odd......

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

They seem to have learned a trick that the Rolling Stones used to use. They put crowd noise through the sound reinforcement system to get the real crowd hyped up. Sort of the Milli Vanilli of audience reaction.

I was flipping through the channels the other day and I landed on Ultimate Fighting (or whatever it's called), and after I got over the initial shock of trying to understand why guys watch this crap I started to notice the "loop"-iness of the crowd cheering. It's like wall-of-sound screaming, yet as they pan around the ring, you never see one person with his mouth open. Just a dozen or so really smart and interesting lads standing around with their arms crossed.

I've often thought at NBA basketball games that crowdnoise is being pumped through the PA.

I heard the audio and already replied in the other thread,
It's a VT (or most likely EVS machine) loop.. A fader of a replay machine was accidentally still open when the machine went into E to E, in that situation the VT machine has the input routed to the output, but with a bit of delay.. The input was most likely international sound/clean feed, and the fader was routed to that same output, thus feedback.. It is a very very common thing in tv sports production, although preferably not live on air obviously.
