Hi I need a small live passive mixing desk that has built in effects and maybe even compression. Only need 4-6 mic inputs. What's a good sounding unit with features close to this? Cheers Shaun

The Yamaha 01V series desk is a staple on the small club circuit around here. It's more than 6 inputs but has everything you'd need. Might be able to find a used one around. It's a great little board.

| I agree. The Yamaha MG mixers are great small format mixers for a very decent price. Good sound quality, very usable effects and single knob compression onboard.

Cheers guys They look great. The 4 mic input one would be ideal, but it has no aux send. Are there any other brands you know of that do compression and fx with aux sends in the small mixers? Cheers S |

Thos e IM8's look good, but they're wayyyyy to big for what I need. I figure I can get around not having an aux send for monitors by tunring up the channel fader and tunring down the overall monitor output for quiet singers. Sure, this will affect front of house levels, but quiet singers should be boosted front of house also. This means I can use the smaller console - happy days ![]() Cheers for your help fellas - you're always here to lend a helping hand Shaun |

Get a Yamaha MG8/2FX they have compression on board fx and also do have an effect send which can be used for a wedge ect. I have one and they work just fine for mixing a few things. This sounds exacly what you would want.
