Thread Starter | Any recommendations for custom flight cases in NYC? i want to make a few cases for my laptops, turntables, mixers and guitars, i can't buy ready-made cases because of strange sizes and shapes that i want to make. also looking for the best possible protection of course as this equipment flies quite a bit, thanks!! j |

I use Calzone cases in Bridgeport CT for custom work, but there are also some manufacturers on Long Island. Been a while since I used them, though.

Hey, Check out Welcome to the Teptronics.com! Discount Car Stereos, Amplifiers, Subwoofers! Save Up To 60%! they have great deals on flight cases made by Audio Dynamics out of Brooklyn or Queens I believe, anyway I found them from another posting on this forum and I dealt with a guy called Brett who was super helpful and the prices really can't be beat HOWEVER they are NOT comparable to a full blown ANVIL type case but as an example I bought an 18 sp shock mount with a rear lid that hooks on the side as a work table (you know the type I mean) very handy and the I am pleased with the overall build and it cost me $325 (around 1/3rd of the price of an ANVIL or similar build. So it's really like comparing apples to oranges so the way I see it is that if your gear is being flown all over the planet and spends a lot of time on the road and out of your possession then buy the best possible case you can afford and if you think you can't afford it buy it anyway!!! It WILL be cheap insurance in the long run WHATEVER it costs!! By the way Teptronics which has a very nice professional website but you WILL be a bit shocked if you visit the store because it's a hole in the wall type store but persevere and head to the rear and ask for Brett. The address is;- Teptronics.com 29 W 27th St New York, NY 10001 I am in no way affiliated to these people I just want to pass on this great deal and very good sales service the rest is up to you!! PS- for some reason when I type the website at the top of this page it comes out as an ad for them, I can't change that as much as I find it a bit obnoxious !!! |
