| I just stumbled upon this mic. Embrace Video:: The Plate-Array Microphone They claim it's a 416 killer, so I took a listen to their samples. It's definately lacking in the bottom, and I feel like I'm missing some of my highs, but the sound is much more natural; I could maybe see it being perfect for certain shows. The recordings also make it out to be much lower noise, although I suspect that the 416 was tracked at a lower level and then brought up; it sounds like far too much hiss for a 416. I'm curious if anyone has gotten a chance to play with one of these things, and what their impressions were. The price is fairly low, and I feel like it could be a nice addition to my bag of production sound tricks. |

| Seems a bit pricey for kit.
