Question Stereo signal down a single XLR?

Hiya

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does anyone know if you can send a stereo headphone "send" down a single xlr mic cable?

The reason I ask is that a headphone jack only has 3 connection points, just like an xlr jack.

Thanks

For headphones - should work OK.

Don't do it for other things , though.

Crosstalk is likely to be higher, but stereo is loads of crosstalk, anyway.

I made up a couple of jack to cannon tails just for this purpose, I can use any old Mic lead lying around to send headphone cues.

Regards

I tried running headphone feeds from a headphone amp to my tracking room through the snake, and I was hearing it in the mic lines.

Running it balanced through two snake channels per stereo feed to a headphone amp in the tracking room is the best solution.
