Is there a PC equivalent to the 2882? I'm a die hard windoze guy looking to downsize my rig. I hear wonderful things about the MH as to sound quality. Do the conversters compare to say Aurora?? Thanks in advance |

i've never heard any complaints about the converters. i think they're regarded as fairly high-end within the community. when i was shopping, it was either the mac route with MH, or PC with RME. if you need 8 mic amps, you could supplement a FF800 with a 4 ch. solution, such as DAV BG-2, or a Sytek. You would end up with a better selection of mic pre's than the stock 2882's got. MH ULN-2 is a different story, but it seems you're looking for 8ch, no? unfortunately, you still won't have the onboard DSP, for which the MH stuff is so well known. |

Thanks, the sk48 looks very intriguing. I'm luggin around a Ramsa DA-7 right now. It sounds quite good really and has been a work horse, but I need to down size go to a laptop, etc.

Reading up on the sk48. has anyone compared the conversion to the RME FF800? While I''m a huge fan of their interfaces, (been running a hammerfall for years with no issues) the converters...not so much.
