I am looking at some new snake options and am considering getting a 150ft 24pair EMI snake from Audiopile Pro Audio* Welcome to Audiopile. Just looking for anyone who has experience w/ these snakes or any of their products. All the reviews on GS seem to be good, and this thing is about $500 vs. about $765 for the Whirlwind version. It should noted that I already have a Whirlwind custom splitter, as well as a Whirlwind 50ft 24pair fan....this is for on location obviously.....After a power issue this past weekend while set up in the wings I have to get further away from the stage and the stage power (no clean power on the gig this past weekend).... any thoughts on this company or this snake would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Ross |

Excellent company! I try to buy all of my "normal" (aka not custom designed) cases from them. I do not own but use the EWI snakes almost every day. They are a great value for the money and hold up fine for light to medium duty use. Their poor man's splitter is really cool and does exactly what you would expect. I can't say enough good things about the company, and they are very honest and accurate with their product descriptions.

EWI is good stuff! Nice people to deal with, and if you're not using these snakes on a tour, they will be fine. I have 3 sub snakes that get used about once a month. They accurately describe the quality as "medium grade". The cable is good quality, however, the connectors are not neutrik, but a decent chinese knockoffs. If you need a snake to take abuse, get a Whirlwind Medusa.

Cool, thanks guys..... I know the quality and durability is there w/ the Whirlwind, but it is not going on the road, so I think bang for the buck wise i am going to go with the EMI.... any other comments would be appreciated! cheers ross |

I bought a 24 channel splitter from them for $250 and it's been great. Heavily abused, I take it on the road with my band and use it every night for my in ear monitor rig. After a couple of years, it's had not a single problem. I do have some 24 channel Mogami standing by in case I need to replace either of the tails, but so far so good. Edwin |
