Yeah, this door took five years or so of R&D planning. Well the glass weighs 240 lbs; the complete door and frame is just above 350 lbs.

Well, I did see Steve's new truck as I was in NY with my wife last week. I was very impressed by this truck and I was especially impressed by the fact that Steve builds EVERYTHING in the truck by himself (well, with some help of extra hands course, but he designs and builds basically every part of his trucks) Thanks for the hospitality Steve! Now what was your preferred size of uploads again? Let me try: |

huub!!!! It was great to see you and your wife. What a wonderful treat. Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot coming from a seriously professional mobile audio engineer like yourself. From the metal work to the carpentry to all the wiring and such, we do indeed build everything from scratch at the Maspeth field shop. Now, that is a huge photo size and I'm not talking about my girth;-) Wait until you see the wood work around the entrance door and racks. it's looking pretty slick, if I do say so myself. Thanks again huub. Now, it's time for me to come visit you and your facilities!!! Quote:

...Slow, but solid. We are working on the rear entrance door and surrounding racks. We picked some beautiful pieces of teak and matched them up quite nicely. Everything is cut and sized up; all we need to do is screw them in, but Dave is being very meticulous about it all, so it's taking time to make it outstanding. And, it will indeed be outstanding if I do say so myself. Lou just installed the HVAC cage to the body. We have the heat pumps apart and we are about to paint them before we install them. I hope to get the MBB Interlift liftgate install right after these two projects are done. Then all that is left is reinstalling the rear skin around the door. I'm looking to install satin finished stainless steel sheets. It should look tremendous. I will post pictures soon. |

We've been freakin' with the teakin' as of late. We have been putting in seriously long days over the last three week to get this truck online ASAP. and, that's not even fast enough. Rear entrance and surrounding racks are just about done. I haven't received authority to upload these crappy (almost) smart phone shots, but I hope you folks can get something out of them; I did;-) |

So, Elroy's entrance door has been installed and layered with beautiful teak. The truck is pretty much ready for action, but the new MBB Interlift liftgate and rear stainless Steel skin will make it complete... What say you? |

| In college I lived in the back of a milk truck. Your truck reminds me of those days, except your truck looks like heaven and my truck looked like hell. Other than that they look the same. CONGRATS!!!! On a more serious note; I've been in quite a few remote trucks over my 40+ years in the business.....no question, that's the #1 most beautifully realized recording truck I've ever seen. Hands down, the winner. |

First class, Baby! Dare I say it? It looks so good, "It looks just like New York"! Yeah, Gotham knows where it is at.

Only my shop crew and my closest friends know how hard I've (we've) worked to make things just right... This room sounds pretty good for a truck on six wheels. I got a few more tweaks I want to do and it will sound better than it looks. I cannot wait to see it on its first recording date outside of the field shop. Quote:

To quote the great American philosopher, Cheech Marin, "Far out, man." Great truck. It has been wonderful seeing it built, seeing how a real pro does it and then to see it work. And the guys in the clip speak without an accent. So good to hear NY spoken again. The rest of this country talks funny. Steve, you will understand, I found tongue and pastrami, Cel-Ray tonic and a real egg creme (Fox's U-Bet) in Portland, OR. It was a time machine to a happy place. I wish you success and happiness, and lots of good delicatessen in that truck. Cheers |

Elroy became a drum booth for a day. It sounded pretty awesome for a freakin' truck! Hey, look carefully; how many speakers do you see in this photo? Second question: what are the makes and model numbers? |

10-12 in the photo, if you include the sub, 12 if those are 2 hidden up in the corners. Not an expert on models but looks like you have Focals and Neumanns, a few home theater models and the ones on the sides which I do not recognize. Hey Steve, how's the hihat sound in the snare mic where it's at? |

You are indeed the King Playa, cause you got it right. There are 12 speakers in the photo; I mean you even found the hidden ones in the corners. The photo shows five Focals twin6 Be 3way monitors, two Neumann KH120As, a Blue Sky sub which shall be replaced with a Focal sub... The hidden corner speakers are Klein + Hummel M52Ds. The smaller speakers just forward of the surround speakers are Fostex 6301Bs which are used as hot mic (and such) speakers. Outside of the shot, there are four additional "hot mic" speakers mounted one the side walls plus two more K+H M52Ds mounted by the rear racks for confidence monitoring. Well, I usually place one of my "Micro Gobos" in between the snare mic and the hi-hat - it wasn't done this time around. I usually never mic the hi-hat; I get my hi-hat sound via the two beyerdynamic M160 overhead mics. Quote:
