Talking Gallery Show in NYC-Columbia 30th St

Hi All,

I just caught the tail end of an interview on WNYC (public radio in NYC) about a gallery show called "In Session at The Columbia Records 30th St Studio".

For anyone interested here's more info (you can browse the pics in the first link!):

In Session At The Columbia Records 30th Street Studio

Morrison Hotel Gallery
116 Prince St NYC

I haven't seen it yet (will be soon!) but it's photos from Columbia's in house photographer of many of the famous sessions we all know about (Miles Davis' KOB, Glenn Gould's Goldberg's etc were recorded there among MANY other historic recordings).

Here's a link to the interview with the photographer Don Hunstein and legendary producer Michael Cuscuna:

WNYC - The Leonard Lopate Show: High Wire Act (July 25, 2008)

Enjoy! And not just for lots of pics of 44s, M50s and 49s ...

That was fast!

I practically got tears in my eyes seeing so many heroes at work and also seeing the amazing space (check out Glenn Gould trying pianos - nice shot of the whole church that was 30th St). I'd order a ton of prints if they weren't $1500 a piece...

Interesting to see some mic technique as well although a decent # are obviously staged (like the one where Louie Prima and his wife are singing madly into the null of a 44...).
