if you can, get the computer tower in another room/location with longer monitor/cable/mouse keyboard runs. could help out if your PC is loud. I run a Sonica DAW and can't ever even tell that the thing is on, so its usually money to sit right in front of it and track.

If you have the resources, throw up some stereo room mics, that could be great. SDC at the 12th fret, LDC towards the bridge, room mics 6-10ft out for some air and a "wood cabin feel" from the room sound....

I've also heard of people using that wireless DAW controller , the Tranzport i think it is. That way you can track where you need to, you would just need to be able to see the monitor.
