Equipment rental in New Orleans - Documentary shoot

Hi fellas.
This one's gonna be aimed specifically at US slutz

OK so I'm going to New Orleans in September with a French crew to shoot a documentary (2.5 weeks).
We're studying the different possibilities in terms of equipment rental. I do own my complete production sound kit so that's sorted. So far the plan is to hire the camera kit in Europe and bring it over (with ATA carnet/form for customs, etc...).
I'd like to enquire a bit more about renting directly there.

So any advice on broadcast equipment rental places in New Orleans or around? We'd probably go for something Z1-ish, or possibly a DSR570 or so.
The main questions are:

where to rent?

would prices be better? (at least there wouldn't be the hassle of gear in plane)

could we rent as freelance individuals? (this is not a production company, it's a group of freelancers from the UK and France coming together for that project) under which conditions?


I know this forum's supposed to be for the audio part of location only, but I'm sure some of you can help out.
