Does anybody know if there is a way of running a cable out of the ear phone jack on a mobile phone to an audio jack (1/4" ect.) in order to record the audio signal coming out of the mobile phone. I know it's a weird one. The reason for this is that I use my mobile phone as a way of recording ideas when I'm not at home. If I could then put those ideas directly into my rig, then I would be able to call them up later. Ian |

hah! "call them up"... that's clever. seriously, though... it would probably depend on the phone and whatnot. on mine has a TRS mini-plug, of which the tip is the mic, the ring is the earpiece, and the sleve is the common. i might have the mic and earpiece mixed up, but you get the idea. if this is the case on your phone, then (theoretically) it should be easy enough to just buy a cheap earbud, cut off the earpiece, and solder on a 1/4" TS connector. no promises about sound quality... if you're really picky, you could research the impedance of that earbud, and see about some sort of re-amp box that would be suitable... but plugging straight into a pre would most likely be fine. let me know if this doesn't work. --jon

I got the 2.5 MM to 3.5 MM stereo adapter. Plugged my headphones in. The output goes to the right channel and the input goes to the left. So I'm all set. I called Sprint and asked them if they carry any phones with XLR outputs, but the price was crazy so I just stick to what I got. Ian |
