Any practical reason for doing this? My first thought was eliminating bleed from backline and monitors for recording purposes ?

Incubus' BV mics were pointed like this here in Honolulu when I saw them a few months back. Could be cool if someone knows why they have them like that. |

I bet they do this to minimize the cymbal bleed. What do you folks think?

Based only on the Kimmel video clip (provided above) everyone seems to be wearing "in-ears" and there are no floor wedges that I can see... But, you never know what the real story is until you hear it from their engineer or PM. |
