Question Mic choice for recording tenor sax

I have the following mics:

CAD E-200 LDC
AT 3035
Oktava MK-012 (2)
SM57 (2)
Senn e609's
SM58
Shure Beta91

Will any of these work decently on a tenor sax or should I use this as an excuse to buy a Fathead II?

A couple of months ago I had a jazz funk band and the sax player said to me "you know I only use this clip on mic on my sax because it sounds good". Obviously for live work, I thought and I told him "let us try this mic and you tell me later".

So, I set up an Oktava ML52 ribbon (with the internal wind screen removed, for a more open sound) and a vocal wind screen in front of it to protect it. Needless to say that he like it a lot. The sound was PHAT.

What I am saying is that the fatheads maybe very good, but give the ML52 a try. They are my darkest mics (I have a couple) and I love them.

I'd be trying the 609 and the E200 first - position is everything.

Yeah, I thought the E-200 might be good. It's actually a very dark mic so it might actually sound good. I actually might try both at different positions and see what I get. Any other thoughts?

I also get great sax sounds from an Oktava 219. From my experience, from your locker I'd try the Oktava 012s first. Even though they are SDCs rather than LDCs/Ribbons I think it's that Russian "vibe" that I like on sax.
