Question DAV BG1 or Sound Devices MP1?

Which pre for acoustic guitar and voice (simultaneously)? Experiences? I had a Millennia TD-1 and it was a bit too 'diamond-edged' for me.

I would go with the DAV, The MP-1 is a fine pre, but very clinical sounding (it is also only one channel). The 2ch Sound Devices unit is a top rated measurement mic pre! The DAV is definitely more musical and rich sounding.

Absolutely no contest.

The DAV electronics Broadhurst Gardens No. 1 will introduce you to hit making machinery.

Decca heritage, Decca sound.

A lot of people said this, it is a truism. Don't know if Sir Duke was the first, otherwise I would credit him! Thanks

I have a BG1 in my workshop for testing and an orchestra session next week where I will test this proposition directly!

Report & clips to follow.

That will be helpful - let me know what you discover.

Also, anyone tried the True Systems pre?

I spent the last two days with the orchestra, trying out the BG1.

Plush - you are not kidding, this is a really incredible mic-amp.
