Hello all. I am looking for some help and insight as to the best way to integrate a laptop into a live setting. In the band that I'm currently playing with we are running all the vocals into a Digi002 and using plugins to process them, as well as using software synths played via MIDI keyboards. The 002 is going to be on the stage, therefore all of the vocals and synths will be line level signals going into the snake as opposed to mic level. I did some research and found a thread on Gearslutz giving directions on how to build some inline pads that would take line level down enough so that it will not distort the mic pres. (the directions are about halfway down the page) Connecting a line level device into a Mic input without a pad...? My main question is whether or not this looks like it will work in a live setting, or if there are better options. Thanks so much for any help! |

What kind of mixer are you sending this to? If it has a line in, which most do, that would be better than converting from line-level to mic-level, and then back to line-level inside the mixer. The TRS adapters would be cheaper than a line to mic adapter.
