Sample Accurate, Backing Tracks

Hi Guys,

I am looking to get a system (anything) that can play back backing tracks on stage controlled by midi, I want this system to sync to ableton live and it needs to be sample accurate. I've looked into many systems including hd24s and multitrack recorders to mpcs but I can't make up my mind which is the best for my purpose. From what I've read stuff like Fostex and Alesis HD recorders only allow you to have a fixed amount of locators which is not ideal. I dont want anything flashy just a solid playback. Been using ableton to play backing tracks but I am not trusting it anymore since we had some problems on stage.

I'd like this piece of equipment to be rack mountable if possible.

if anyone has anything in mind would be great if you could share your knowledge
