If you are recording acoustic music and classical I would also recommend millennia hv3d. I have a HV3c (2 channel) and love it. Sometimes I even use it for rock stuff and it works surprisingly well along my UA and Chandler pres.

surpricingly many different gear. and preamps i never heard of. mayby i should go to u.s. and get it all. still, now i fond out that the daking 8pré wich i can buy here in belgium for 1600€ is reaseneble. this year 1 and perhaps next year 1 more. still are there any ppl experienced with daking? my distributor loves them. or shound i buy every 3 months a UA s610. they look very interesting and very orriginal too. still thanks a lot for all info and time |

The True Precision8, esp used, is the best deal in pres on the market, IMO. There are better sounding pres on different sources, but for remote work and the majority of what I do, it delivers a sound better than the real thing 98% of the time. People call it "Euphonic." I've seen em used for around 1600 bucks. In trying a dozen different pres, I couldn't find a pre I liked better for less than twice the price per channel. YMMV. |

I really miss my Sytek, I'll probably end up buying a console from Neotek (same company) in a couple years. I would consider two of those. They work great on everything, especially acoustic sources.

Thread Starter | how can you say, i recorded acc guitar with it and it was a song of the beatles. it just matched. i think sp828 is in the price category to have a standard sound, but somehow they sound a little ruff. its defenetly not a daking but its sure not bad sound too. i think for ppl who record rock music for demos you will get a superb sound. let me work out some soundclips for you. |
