Talking recording jazz trio on sunday need advice

Got this gig on a very short notice and I need to make some decision very fast .
small club/bar non smoking() always a plus for my mic
3 piece:
Grand piano (backing vocal)
Drum(with a lot of percusions gizmo)
Vocalist (with some acoustic Guitar with piezzo)

The piano lid cannot be open as there is a glass top on it.
there is a mic inside against the sound board ,probably a 58 .I'm not able to confirm .
I'll rather have my own mics on it .
I have a mic splitter for all the singers and the one inside the piano.

this is the list of mic I can use :

Neumann:
U87
U67
pair of KM184

AKG:
C12vr
pair of 414

Peluso 2047 LE

Pearlman TM1

RODE :
NT1
pair of NT5

AUdiotechnica: ATM25

shure : three 57

I'm trying to keep it around 10 channels max,
stereo pair on the piano (AKG 414 ?)
2 or 3 mic on the drums (the 2 km184 stereo OH and u87 in front?)
maybe a pair of ambience mic (???)
2 vocals(they use theirs a 58 and an AudioTech. )
direct box on the acoustic Gt(Martin).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The preamps is probably going to be an octopre and 2 channel of Weiss pre, no EQs going to protools thru 192 i/o.trying to keep it light.

Thanks
Francois

How can you put a 414 pair on the piano if you can't open the lid?

No bass?

Sounds like an almost minimalist approach is the best.

I've had good success by putting a mic under the piano near the soundboard. You might experiment with that.

I usually use an SDC but if your KM84s are already in use the 414 would be fine. You'll have to experiment with placement.

Yeah you could, one under the soundboard at the crook and one in the back under the piano. It's going to sound very dark but with a little EQ it might be okay.

I agree with Bryan. I'd put a pair of mics under the piano. You can get respectable sounds from under there (I've done this with a pair of 414s once). It can get boomy and thunky under there fast...Hopefully you can baffle the mics a bit so whatever other sound (drums...) that gets caught under the piano can be minimised a bit. If there is a lot of drum bleed try fig.8 with a close baffle behind it (like our eminent moderator does) - much better side rejection than cardiod.

With a glass cover....guess that stops the drinks from spilling inside
I wonder how they tune / regulate it - or if they tune it... I guess they never have to replace strings or add felt etc. Speaking of which, it would be quite fun to be there when one of those bass strings snaps and meets the glass cover on its way out. At least from a very safe distance behind a safety screen....

Just a question: You have some nice microphones on your list. Do you really want to take a U67 into a bar?

It's more like a high end "wine gallery " in a 5 star hotel. non smoking and not very crowded,I went to check the place today and decided to leave my tube mic home, there is not much room everything is on a rug the size of 2 grand piano max.The drum is almost touching the grand.the pianist is also playing electric keyboard bass with is left hand.
Of course no sound check...
the pianist is opening by himself for an hour, that should give me some time to tweak the piano mics.
