Does anyone recall a thread that showed a small remote housed in a van that was posted here a while back. As I recall they had the rack of pres stored at the rear of the truck so they could be pulled out and taken to the stage. The feed to the truck post converters was on an Aviom system. I've been through a few thread searches but can't seem to find it. If you know the truck or can find the thread please let me know. Thanks Mark Linett yrplace@earthlink.net |

Mark, Here's the thread I believe you're referring to: In post # 4 Mike started talking about his Indre Mobile unit... Thinking about a VERY small recording mobile I'm sure Michael comstock will chime in soon.

Hi Mark, Not sure if you were looking for my rig or not? I built up our remote recording truck inside a Sprinter van a couple years back, and couldn't be happier with it. It's big enough to be comfortable inside, but small enough to parallel park in the city. With gas prices so high, the Sprinter is a godsend...currently getting about 29 mi/gal on a Mercedes 5 cylinder diesel. I bought their basic cargo model and did all of the fit out myself. Last week I was knee deep installing a giant UPS battery backup that can run our entire rig for about 90 mins if need be. -Michael __ |

Do you think that the thermal isolation of a truck like this one can be a good starting point for a sound isolation??? Don't worry, I am not making it, it's just an idea!!! |
