Question Backup Help

Does this rig make sense for a 16 track live recording?:

Console Direct Outs-
002R+lynx aurura8 into PTLE
SPLIT into:
2 DA88's

I'll be taking ballanced outs from the console, splitting them into two identical paths, into the seperate recorders. I'll also be taking two room mics (posisbly an M/S config) into PTLE via Spidf. I'll have a board mix as well as a third way to document it, but not as an official "backup." any additional suggestions are welcome!!!

I've been studio recording for a while, and I've done hundreds of live 2 track recordings (both in the music and corperate world) but this is my first time multi-tracking a concert. Oh yeah, there will be a camera crew relying on this.

It was suggest to me to have PT record to two HD's at the same time...I've never thought this possible, but is it? Thanks!
Chris

You can allocate each track to a different path, so indeed you can record on multiple Hd's in the same time.

I don't think you need to record on more than on disk for 16 track.

Why not? It always makes sense to have a backup, right? If something happens to my computer while I'm tracking, I'll let down the whole project (its being filmed for a DVD I believe). Is there a digital platform available that is so stable that a backup isn't a good idea?
