Talking Live backing tracks...

Does anyone know a well priced device that can allow me to have a drummer listen to a click, but have other outputs with no click going out...

I know a laptop and a half decent audio interface can do this, but I was wondering if there was a more simple and cheaper thing out there...

?

any input would be appreciated!

Well... you could go as simple as an iPod with the click panned hard to one side and then split the signal into two mono lines....

So it really depends on your price range.... any idea on that?

For stereo: iPod
Need more than 2 tracks: Tascam Portastudio or Roland VS series.

How many channels?

For ~$900 you could by a used Alesis HD24 and get 24 channels and allow your FOH to mix the channels for the room.

Or you could use a couple tracks for playback and record your performance with the rest.

If it's short program material, a blackface ADAT can be found for ~$150.

I used to use an I pod, but we have trouble getting the right volume in his ear set....

the ideal would be one output for the head phones with a click track and 2 other outputs.... so three in all.

Im surprised there are not more devices that have this as it is quite handy....

as fas as i know most multi tracks just have 2 outputs.... although im thinking maybe some of them have a in built click that may only come through the headphone output anyway....

I just wanted something nice and easy rather than messing around with wires and stuff and connecting devices...

thanks for the feed back...
