Thumbs up Had an interesting conversation re MIDI and live production values

Quite an eye-opener for me - I never realised how extensively MIDI is used in live shows:

So what else have you seen/done with live shows?

I was chatting to this guy who is a techie nerd/bass player in an band that uses loops, MIDI patches on gtr and bass FX, as well as TC Helicon for vox.

He was describing how everything including stage strobe light lighting cues to go from "unison strike a pose fast bit" to "slow grind next section" is dealt with via MIDI.

Sometimes the drummer even uses a strobe light located on the kik drum for count-ins on the stuff that doesn't have backing tracks.

I never realised this was commonplace
