Hello everyone, I am new here. I am desperately looking for some reviews on the DAV BG Nr.6 compressor/Limiter. I tried the DAV BG1 last year and was simply blown away by its beautyful sound. very nice indeed! But what finally got me was the A Designs Pacifica Pre. This is heaven! Amazing width and depth! If you have the money and can try it, do yourself a favour! Check it out! And, no i am in no way connected with those guys :-) To be fair, I´d have to say that the DAV is less than half the price depending on where you buy it and is also really, really a great pre and not only for the buck. I also had the opportunity to try some other nice pres at the same time. The Brent Averill Neve Copy, the Safe Sound P1, the Mercury Audio Grand Pre and the V72. this was a tough call... But as I said: It was the Pacifica B-) If you´re in the heavier music club then give the Mercury V72 or the Grand Pre (rather for guitars) a serious go. You could almost save the money you were about to spend on a compressor. The V72 is the tightest of them all with a thick big and tone but IMO not as versatile as the Pacifica. The Grand Pre seemed to lack quite a lot of low end but, dunno, could be just this one unit. Seemed predestined for Guitars with its well pronounced midrange. Has anyone of you guys come across the DAV BG Nr.6? I think that it will be a fantastic compressor with lots of elegant character. Cheers
