Talking Remote Possibilities in TAGs -- What are your favorites?

So, as many of you already know, I've spent an insane amount of time making the Popular Tag search on this forum as solid as possible.

I was wondering what your favorite or most used tags were.

steve - i mostly hit individual instruments, like flute, piano, cello, violin, etc. i also hit more general stuff like blumlein and woodwinds.

i think you should add links for "chamber" and "reverb".

thanks.

Instruments, such as flute, piano, bosendorfer, harp, trumpet, in addition to the general families (woodwind, brass) which are already there

Specific settings, quintet, quartet, trio, duo, orchestra. In addition to the places these are recorded (specific ones like Carnegie Hall and Village Vanguard if possible, as well as "living room", "auditorium", "church cathedral" is a good one

Also I would recommend a tag for ONNO as he seems to pop up alot and maybe other engineers whose techniques are discussed.

Hope this is useful

Yes, this is a pretty good start and very useful tags suggestions.

For the most part actual names of people and places are not going to work because if I add one I got to add them all and it would be quite a daunting task.

When you suggested chamber I trust you meant as in a form of classical music.
If so, this would be included under the classical tag.
There are many tags that signify a group of terms.

It takes a lot of work to get these tags in place and available within the entire thread count, but I will attempt to add them in as I find the time…

Here are the ones I’ve picked from you lists:

reverb
quintet
quartet
trio
duo
living room
auditorium

Orchestra and church cathedral are already in the popular tag list.

Hey Steve, thanks for putting so much work into keeping this resource TAGged!
one of my favorites is the Virtual Gobo tag--and from that I am wondering about photos. Specifically photos of setups. Can you tag for pictures or examples of setups? Is this already available and I'm not noticing it? Just wondering.... thanks again! peace, walt

Well, I just finished adding the "auditorium," "duo," "living room," "quartet," "quintet," "reverb," and "trio" tags!

Also, did you folks noticed that the "tag phrases" do not wrap around any more?
It took us awhile, but it's finally done. You can now read the entire tag phrase in one complete line!

Tagging photos sounds interesting, but I don't believe it's available.

The best we can do is tag the thread those pictures are in.

It annoys me when I want to browse on my pda and I have to always go through the tags at the front of the message.

I do understand the reality that I cannot please everyone every time.

I trust that using your PDA to get your information is still a lot easier than going to the public library.

Steve,
The only grumble I have. Now that I have 100 posts I had to do it once.
You have made this site the best resource for for me on the web.
All the best regards,
Tom

No worries Tom,

As we add more tags I do consider consolidations to keep the tag list short.
This is one of the reasons why I don't want to name each and every possible topic.

Thanks!

I actually agree that it's kind of annoying. When you moved it to the top I was a bit bummed. But I guess the benefits (people seeing and using them) outweigh my mild annoyance.

Exclamation My scroll key is worn out!

Well, that was the main reason why the tags were moved to the top.

So many folks start threads without doing the research; this seems to have helped.

Furthermore, I'm in the same boat; I have to scroll down to the threads just like everyone else.

Oh come now, surely you have some kind of "magic leapfrog locator" thing, "scrolling with your mind," or something?

Only on Tuesdays and Thursdays - it takes a lot of energy to make this so.
Hey, two days a week is not bad for a beginner; I'm not the Krell.
As I develop my human mind, in another year or two I should be able to increase this to three days a week.
