Question Help me set up a mobile rig

I have a Rosetta 800 with 7 channels of outboard gear that I use. I use Cubase 4, and I'm coming from a Digi 002 with the Rosetta (i picked up an mbox micro to be able to access Pro Tools LE).

What are some recommendations for an interface?
I won't need anymore preamps
I do need at least one headphone output
Needs to have ADAT connection
Firewire preferred
Needs to work with Cubase 4 and a Macbook Pro

Fireface 800 looks good, but there might be cheaper alternatives
M-Audio 1814 might work, but I haven't been pleased with M-Audio products in the past....would appreciate help!

Motu has a couple to look at

An HD24 and a fireport might work.

I can help you set up a mobile rig by moving this thread to the forum that discusses "mobile rigs" 24/7.

I trust you will get a few more bits in this forum.

Furthermore, if you folks see a potential "Remote Possibilities..." thread in another forum please consider directing them to this forum or PM me about it so I can move the thread. In the end this helps everyone involved.

Thank you in advance!

I have been using a Rosetta & Fireface combination for a while with happy success. The 16 channels of ADAT in the FF future-proof you if you need it for larger projects (or the FF's own "reasonable" conversion).
The FF Totalmix is great for setting up headphone mixes for the 8 outputs (ie 4 stereo mixes)- if you need that sort of thing. The headphone amp is ok but not great - software routing is again good.

Another option is to get a Firewire card for the Rosetta, and a monitor controller/headphone amp fed from the Rosetta's analog outputs - I have this too, and use it on smaller projects without the FF.

Fireface 400 may also fulfill your requirements and be cheaper...
