help with terms

Hey there

I am helping a young friend with a class project, making a live performance scenario, and he ran into terms I couldn't answer,

anyone ever heard of USL, and USR, and driser stand for on a stage plot?

Well, I can correctly answer two of the three terms you presented.

USL = Up stage Left

USR = Up stage right

Yes, that sounds right. It must be the drum riser.

DOWN stage is closer to the edge of the front lip, and UPSTAGE is farther away towards the back of the stage. Stage /Stage Right is left and right respectively from the ONSTAGE perspective, not from the house point of view.
