Talking Remote broadcast fun

I've been volunteering for this small but great station in the twin cities for a couple years now and have a remote posting for your view. Sorry in advance for no pics Your Remoteness, but I'll get some next month for take three. It's a three piece combo, guitar, B-3, and drums, so you wouldn't think it's that tough. The first time at the The Artists' Quarter, last month, we miked the kit OH with a pair of SDC 137's I think, and the bleed from the B-3 pretty much blew them out of the mix. Their mic on the lower (bass) of the whirli-cab was shot, so we lost that too. I didn't mix, just the 1-A, and I multi-tracked to my HD24, mic>Midas Venice DO>HD24. Thanks to the "Remotny" kit setup on take two, the kit was back in the mix. The Beyerdynamic m160's OH, with the ribbons in the correct orientation, took the Hammond out of the picture. The Beyerdynamic 101 omni at the knee saved the foot and and sucked in some of the toms. The 868? on the front face was pretty much useless. I still have to play with placement, but it was really cramped in there. The boss couldn't believe it and didn't want to give the mics back.

One glitch to speak of this month, but please feel blast away

The Remote (Remotny) Knee!!!

That is funny. Thanks for the mention!

I just listened to the Tuesday Night Band on Thursday and they sounded tight!
