| Kanye / Daft Punk
Anyone catch the control surfaces Daft Punk were using? What the hell were they? I want one...
So far so good, IMHO... This is the first Grammy's show in years that I've not turned off after the first 20 minutes.

Underwood was nice, great job and she was a knock out in the black ware, love the boots they covered her nobby knees.

if they using the Lemur it sure is a far cry from the Behringer controllers they've been using on tour!

| Talk about lip synching!
Beyonce lip-synched the Tina Turner spoken word introduction (not the songs they sang together mind you, just the introduction).
Spoken word! Over a bed of synchopated music, but still...spoken!
What, I ask you, is the world coming to?
Food Fighters-...Oy vey...they stink.
Kanyay South? The world is in severe trouble. I thought The Sugar Hill Gang was just kidding around 30 some odd years ago...Who'd'a thunk rap would be a something??!!! It's gotta go away!
Please, lord above, please bring back Paul Simon and Stevie Wonderful. PLEASE!!!!!!

| Fergie, held her own
I have heard so many people say that Fergie couldnt sing. I felt she did a great job with only a piano accompanying her. Im not a fan just felt she vendicated herself based on all the negative I heard about her singing on this site.
Brad Paisley performance was just how it sounds on the record. Its funny, I know country music isnt very popular on this site but there is never any questions about country singers talents and their singing abilities. Just a thought.
Peace
Eddie

But I did really like Hanks' introduction.

If this is supposed to be the "best of the best", the RIAA now has it's answer as to why the music industry is in so much trouble.
Fergie and Underwood were both pretty good though, IMHO.

Aretha Franklin; No 300+ pound woman over the age of 65 should be wearing a shoulder free, cleavage showing chicken chick yellow dress, singing about jesus on national television; except for comedic purposes.

I only saw part of it, and thought it was boring...though if I was in the first row looking up at Beyonce in that outfit, mmmmm, mmmmm.
I'm quite sceptic about if a performance is live or not after the superbowl thing, but I'm thinking that the Feist number may have been live. Did you hear the feedback from the guitar at the end when she put it near the mic? Also wouldn't it be hard to fake all that brass?

Amy Winehouse appeared more sober than I've ever seen her. Most of the show lacked entertainment and a lot of the music sounded so "performed" and un-natural. Worst show in a long time. Bad versions of good songs. Kid rock jazz fusion was horrible. I'm not saying these people don't have talent because they do and in spades. They just weren't that entertaining tonight.

Yeah that Vince Gill remark was great.
Kanye's head has just gotten way too big, you can just see it as he was giving his long winded speech and the background music was coming up, queing everyone that the show was going into another segement. Kanye had the attitude that he was running the show and says "oh you gonna keep the music on while Im talking" No respect for anyone else but his own agenda.

It was really cool when Steve Vai's Violinist played with Foo Fighters, though her role seemed kind of small..

I may be in the minority here, but I enjoyed the show. Lot's of great entertainment and legends who we may not get to see again.
Congrats to all the nominees and winners. The Grammy award is a big deal, even a nomination is something to be proud of.
Highlights for me were, the "A Day In The Life" and "Let It Be" performance, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, Little Richard, and the tribute to Luciano Pavorotti......

| Foo Fighters Orchestra Director
Foo Fighters are one of my favorite Rock bands but I think the Strings and winds arragement for the Foo Fighters song SUCKED! was boring, timid, without emotion, aggression or dramatism...very boring and old fashion..was Ok for a average movie part ...not for that song.....such a waste of orchestra ...and the brasses at the end of the song were so out of place..a bit more and the director could write a congas arragement !!
