Name: Oliver Hoen Rank: Fresh out of recording school I've put together a little portable rig cause I don't have a room. Turns out it's pretty fun bouncing around with my studio on my back. Gear: A&H MW 16:2 RNP x2 RNC x2 Alesis HD24 all wrapped up in a silly SKB gigrig various cheesy mics and other paraphernalia Everything moves around in the back of my Volvo. Classy! Cool forum, I wish it was more active!

Yeah, the casters came with my gigrig (it's the big one), it would be impossible to deal with otherwise. I edit with PTLE just cause it's cheap and I'm pretty comfortable with it. Right out of the box the HD24 interfaces with a cat5 cable. Supposedly it's super slow and glitchy. When I bought mine they were offering their firewire interface for free with the purchase so I have that and it works well. How are you patching everything? Routing has been a nightmare for me. I'm just now getting ready to wire a patchbay.

Remote recording –- We’re like 2 to 5 percent of the music recording industry. If you looked at it this way, we’re really not doing too badly.

checking in I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and wanted to introduce myself. I'm located in Knoxville, TN. I started live recording with a pair of blackface ADAT's while I was FOH for a band in 1999. We did a live album and it came out on a national label. With the next band I toured with we did the same thing except we used a Midas Venice and an Alesis HD24. 2 of those tracks are going to be on a "rarities" disc early next year. I've done mainly studio stuff and live sound but I really enjoy doing live recording. Currently, I do post production audio for several cable networks. I'm toying with the idea of setting up a rig and getting some camera people together and start doing DVD's. Anyway....hello all. Great forum!

I'm sure the folks on this forum would love to see a picture of it. Don't be shy, show off some of your audio toys too my man. All the best -- keep up the good work!
