Question Simple stereo out interface for laptop in a hotel room

Dear Gearslutz,

Before starting, big cheers for the GS community: the knowledge sharing that goes around here is nothing short of amazing.

On to my question. I need an interface for a windows laptop. The only feature I really need is a high-quality stereo out and headphone out. The purpose is to listen to rough-mixed tracking (while away on work, but not really on the move or in transport, more like "in-hotel-room" - thus the laptop). Either usb or fw, its not important. My budget is capped at about $300.

This is a list of what I understand is out there and seems to me could work:

1. M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB Audio Interface
2. M-Audio Firewire Solo Audio Interface
3. Echo AudioFire2 Compact FireWire Audio Interface
4. Echo Indigo DJ Dual Stereo 24/96 Laptop Cardbus
5. Emu 0404 USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface

I am tempted with the Echo Indigo, but the EMU 0404 USB really brags about its sound quality (even though it has features I will never use). Somewhat minimalist is also the Echo Audiofire2 - from a pure output sound quality perspective, is it a big step up from the Indigo?

Am I missing any more reasonable or appropriate options?

Any advice is very much appreciated.

I don't know much about it, but the micro m-box is designed for this purpose, plus you can use it with pro tools ( and I assume other software too, check first) (comes with pro tools LE, plus a few xtras), no inputs, single stereo out (no seperate phones)

I'm really happy with my Bit Head - the cross-feed switch is nice to have.
