Question Instrument & PA Hire in Florence (or nearby)

Hi fellow location slutz,
not sure if this is the right forum for this:

I am taking a jazz ensemble to Florence (Italy) in May for a private function and need to hire a double bass, drum kit, small PA, and guitar amp. Anyone have any pointers to musicians/slutz/companies in the area?

Googling is just bringing up a mass of inappropriate stuff...

Happy New Year to all.

Hello

Here I am.

I think for a PA rental you could check these guys out: Omikron Audio Service (I see they have their site under construction right now, but it should be up soon).
I've worked with them several times and they are quite well equipped for both small scale and large scale situations. They can also point you to the best instrument rental in town; I guess for guitar amp and drums Mokke's (also a gear rental in town) could be right. I'm a bit unsure about renting a double bass, but I work with lots of classical and jazz double bass players in town, so if you need it I can ask a bit about it.

Let me know if you need any additional infos.

Hope this helps

L.G.

Many thanks Lorenzo.

We are going over in May. I'll check out the Omikron site when it's ready, and I'll PM you if and when I need more help.

I'm also now emailing another Gearslut who contacted me.

What a great site, very helpful!

Cheers.

You're welcome thumbsup.

Just drop me a line if you need to know more.
I should be in town by May, so it would be fun to assist the session if possible.

Cheers

It's a friend's wedding on 17th and I'm a guest, but the band and (incredible!) singer, Matthew Ford, are on my record label - hence their presence.

We'll be sampling the delights of Florence on 16th May - will maybe see if I can get them a gig in one of the local jazz clubs...

Cheers.

I think I can give you some advice on a pair of jazz clubs in the center of Florence which could eventually schedule the band for a gig.
Check this out: * * * J A Z Z C L U B F I R E N Z E * * * Florence Jazz Club It's one of my favorites, I know the staff and the owner. Really nice people.

See ya
