Hello Remoties, there is a nice truck for sale in Spain, I'd really love to buy it but I guess I can't get the funds together fast enough, so I want to tell You. Perhaps a fellow slut might enjoy it. The truck was build in 1989 as a remote broadcast mobile for a German Public Brodcasting Corporation, and since 2004 it's in Spain with a small company. It has a real custom made analogue german broadcast console (TBG from Munich), and records to two Alesis 24 HD's. For me - from pics and correspondence - the guy, the truck and the price look very ok. He's asking 30.000 EURO. The truck: NEOPLAN Jetliner G. Auwaerter machine Mercedes OM 634 - 10 ltr, 6 Zyl. 280 PS 170.000 km (chassis and engine) consumption about 12 ltr Diesel weight 17t Aircondition Electrical Floorheating Sound Insulation, IRT Independend Diesel-Heating Electrical Connections: 32A CEE 3 Phases 400 V 240V on 60 m lines 3 Batteries 230AH 24V for emergency Production-Desk TBG-Sitral Broadcast Analogue Console Made in Germany, with 80 Inputs, 20 outputs, individal routing 8 Auxiliar-Busses 8 Group-Busses 4 Stereo-Inputs i.e. Auxuliary 8 Stereo-Inputs, selectable via Matrix 4 fach fully parametric EQ @ each channel strip 4 Lowpass 2 Highpass Bell-Curve 48 Track Digital HD-Recording HD24/96 ( 2 x 24 track sychronized) K&H midfield monitors Intercom Additional a real lot of BeyerDynamic mics, clambs, stands, cables, and a lot of Behringer stuff |

| Nice!
If I lived in Europe, I'd be all over this. She looks like fun! It would be well worth a close investigation to see how the build-out is done, and go through the console and patchbay to see if the price is right. Personally, I'd want to add quite a bit, but it looks like a nice starting point if everything is in good shape. I wonder how it drives. How long is the chassis? From the pic I'd estimate maybe 8 meters... just curious! |

Jim, You're right, the vehicle is 8-9 m long. 6 drive transmission, 6 cylinders, 280 Horse Power. 3 Floating seats in the drivers cabin, and You can adjust the hight of each single wheel for parking :-) I guess for such a beast it will be fun to drive, but he says that it's too large for the place where he's living. I assume that he's referring not only to the jobs they can get there, but also to the old cities and small and serpentine streets they use to have there. He also sais that the patchbay / routing is opulent and the console ready to work. Nice is that it's built in and for Germany, so it has a heating also in the mirrors and side windows. For Spain it has a good air condition. Regarding the build-out I'd trust in our good old German Public Brodcast Corporations. In that time they didn't have to think about money and ordered only the best. The isolation seems to be very good, but may be one has to do something more against reflections. My impression is that the broadcasters only had thrown out the mics and small parts before selling the unit. There are also e.g. two analogue two-track machines within :-) |

He's going to put it on Ebay next week, at "Utility Vehicles". Don't know whether only for Germany / for Europe or world wide. The vehicle has to leave the hall where it's parked in about 3 weeks from now. Folks, please save this working horse from the butcher! |

Sorry, the price I told You first was wrong, he's asking 29.000 EURO, not 30.000. Hope that's looking better :-) |
