Hey Ben, slightly OT, but... Since you tend to be up on these things, we're wondering if we should take the plunge for Samp 10 now or wait for a later release. We're running 9.1.2 (I think, maybe it's 9.1.1 - whatever the latest 9.1.x release that was available in October) and it's working well, but of course there's always new plugins and features, and some of them seem very appealing. Also, do you so happen to know how well Samp10 is faring with quad-core (Q6600) vs. dual-core (E6850) machines on, say, a P35-series mobo? We're spec'ing a new system for January, and the single major requirement is that it needs to play real well with Samplitude. Thanks for any words of wisdom you may have on this matter... -oudplayer

Samplitude 10 running awesomely well on a quad core here (P35). The updated automation, external hardware integration, and audio quantize alone are worth the update. Greg | |

Greg pretty much answered for you... I actually don't have a very recent computer in my studio because the old one that I've been using has been so darned stable. I will say that 10.01 is not that far out and it will fix a number of the stupid little bugs that were releasd with 10.0. As I've mentioned before, Version 10 is a great upgrade with a lot of needed fixes. --Ben |
