Question M221 Help

Does anyone here use the AMC3 adapter on the M221b to use current capsules? I want to pick up a pair of tube SDC and found an opportunity to get some 221B, but they are just the amps, no capsules or power supplies.

Does it have any effect on the sound?

Thanks,
Thom

Get in touch with Scheops. They must have something that will work. I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg too.

You might be better off with the new Peluso tube sdc. They're out-of-sight! They come with 2 caps, omni & cardioid.

The 221 is pretty cool though. Thats the 1960s Rudy Van Gelder mic.

I have heard the Peluso P28, in fact we just did an orchestra recording with them in a Decca Tree. While they did sound good, it was not the sound of the 22* Schoeps. Also, the P28s that we used were hybrid fet and tube.

Thanks for the advice though.

P.S. Now, the Peluso P12 is incredible. They are on a very short list of LDC, for purchase.

I guess you'll have to cough up the bread to get the Shoeps into shape.
