| Hi guys, I'm Simon, I don't post often but I've really got no idea where to go on this one. I've just started a BSc in Audio over here in the UK with hopes of going into live/touring audio. I'm a technician at a venue and get to see alot of great tours come through, which has only made me want to go into live audio more and more. However, recently I've been offered some work as an outside broadcast engineer for a local radio station, and while I'm ready to go as far as technical knowledge goes, I don't know the specifics, the 'lingo' as it were, of the broadcast industry. Does anyone have any links that may be helpful please? I took a look at the Soundcraft site as I know they make alot of broadcast desks but and found words like 'cleanfeed', which is pretty self-explanatory, but its still the type of thing I don't experience at work so I need to train myself up... Thanks if anyone has anything! Kind Regards, Simon |

| For starters there's a list of Engineering Acronyms & Abbreviation -- A thru Z in a thread called... Five components to a successful location recording & much more (The Beginners Guide) As you may already know, there's a fair amount of information for your review. I add to this thread as I find useful bits of information. I hope this helps!
