the government is supposed to be we the people
not a guy with a piece of paper framed on the wall

I think its a good merge

they just need more channels
more options bit/sample

I wonder how much a station would cost

If you think about live music could change allot of things

live music is way healthier

quad ,5.1 , what ever
thats what I would love to see

Hmm. Well, I can see where this is going. Fewer shows for guys like me to mix for XM and Sirius. A shame, because I do so much less these days for MTV or VH-1 and all my work for HBO is ancient history.

A merger is simply one less provider, and no more producers trying to do something different or interesting. Less work for all of us, more work for the biggest guys. Maybe I'll see if Effanel is hiring!

Matt,

So, you're cool with having only one provider?

I see both sides of the story and tend to lean towards feeling good about the merger, but I trust time will tell if it was exactly the right thing to do.

Imagine buying fuel from only one source? What would that cost.

Look at the banking sytem -- all the small banks are getting eaten up by the four or five larger banks.

I've notice some serious changes in their policies that make it a lot worse for the banking and credit card customer.

Ah yes, the possibility of the "nice" big corporation doing well for its country and people.
I guess it's a remote possibility.

I do agree with the quote from your signature...
"I'm glad we don’t live under communist rule"

I'm just not sure if I'm comfortable living under corporate rule.

With that said, I do like the efficiency of have one system to deal with, but at what price?

Yes, I have and I believe we can do much better without government and their enforcers, but this is another story for another thread.
