Thread Starter | Hi, My friend and I just finished our album and have just recruited a drummer for live shows. He has approx 500 dollars for mics . I have an sm57 I was thinking about using for the snare and I also have a shure kms44 I was possibly thinkin about using as an overhead. any suggestions on mics i should advise him to purchase with the money he's got Thanks |

| Audix D6 and 3 x i5. D6 on kick, 57 on snare, and the i5s for toms/snare. |

| Depends on the venue. Sometimes a RE20 in the kick and a pair of RE15's overhead can be fine.... SM57's on all drums but the Kick are pretty common. The AT450's are supposed to be really good for overheads. Drums are where you can really get pricey on mics..... -tINY |
