Question Apogee Symphony Mobile

Two questions to the system you may help.

On the Apogee website they say the express card is capable for 32 channels at 96k.
Does it mean 16 in and 16 out or 32 in and out at the same time?

This solution is very attractive for live recordings of concerts. Just 2 x AD-16x and 2 DA-16x, a MacBookPro with Logic or something else, a Firewire HD and a little 32 channel mixer. Very mobile and affordable. Have anybody used this setup on a live gig? Stability? Any other thoughts?

It says "32 channels of I/O" - meaning 32 simultaneous inputs and outputs.

Thanks for the replies, helped a lot already.

Now I would like to see if anybody did 32 channel recording and monitoring with an analog desk (line mixer). The other thread was mainly interesting about performance of harddiscs.

In real world, anybody doing live recordings? Is the system solid for recording a 4 hour show without a break?

100% YES!!!

The Apogee Symphony System is rock solid when it's paired with the power of an Intel Mac!

I would use external hard drives for a project running 32 inputs. Make sure it's at least FW 800.

peace

A guy from Apogee told me that Joss Stone used Symphony Mobile to record 32 channels at 96k on her last European tour.

Max- can you confirm?

Cool

good thread here. I need another live mobile system that can handle more than 18 simultaneous IN's the Apogee Symphony mobile seems to be the first option, the other option is 2 Lynx Aurora 16 (w LT-FW).
