We are new to television and I have a whole bunch to learn as the audio guy. We have been doing radio for over 25 years so I think we have that figured out. My biggest concern is the quality of the first part. He is being recorded using a concealed lapel, and a boom mic in a very noisey place. In the video posted below I think we only used the lapel. There are a few elements in our TV broadcast that have unique sonund requirements. I'll post them in the order they appear on the show: 1. Teaser [30 seconds] - A guy standing on a crowded patio outside the church (cahllenge- getting good sound quality, determining how much ambient noise we want) 2. Intro [30 seconds] - A video montage with some voice and dominate music. (how loud should it be compared to the rest of the show? ) 3. Sermon in church [20-25 minutes] - Pastor is speaking in a room with about 3000 people. His mic is a countryman E6, and there are 2 room mics for ambience. (how much ambience should there be?)(It ends with some music in the last 10 seconds - do you like how it's mixed?) 3. Wrap up [30 seconds]- Same guy on patio again (music while he is speaking) 4. Personal interest story - This is a little micro documentary of a person or situation that relates to the sermon (there is music under it, how much should there be?) 5. Guy on patio wraps up, does a little commercial. (how does the music vs ambient sound?) (how is the quality of his voice? can it be improoved?) Why Does Evil Dominate the World? I can't figure out how to do a direct link, but you can just click on that title on the page The link is flash based so you can skip ahead pretty easily as long as you have a decent internet connection. Even if you don't have time to listen to the video, I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks, ~Jay |
