Question Live DVD recording

Hey folks,
Im doing sound for a live dvd here pretty soon,, ive done some live recording before but usually in the sense of live off the floor recordings not at gigs. since this will be in a private location I wont have to worry about venue related crap (ie. promoters) however it still has to maintain an appeal for an audience. Is there any crucial things that I should know for this type of situation?

And yes I have read the "beginners guide to remote recording" sticky

Thanks

Jordan

Perhaps you could give us more information? Type of room, equipment, planned setup, etc.

There are so many things to be aware of that if you've not done much of this in the past you'd be well advised to lay it all out on the table here for the many seasoned experts to help you with.

When you say you're doing sound, do you mean FOH ? Or are you actually tracking?

Alright, well the plan is a Midas Venice 24 mix into my Digi 002 and Apogee Rosetta 800 and quite a large variety of mics (this is not so much an issue as my mic knowledge is pretty good and I have access to a large variety of new and classic mics). The rooms will vary as the shoots will be done in a variety of jam spaces (which means usually a basement full of junk with poorly done carpeting), now the idea is NOT to treat the room acoustically as we want to maintain the original look of the jam space (this is not set in stone if the space is un-workable). My plan so far is to close mic most things, but not overdo it, and also get some room mics happening to give that live feel, regardless if the room sound is totally desirable. Mics and equipment can definitely be visible in the shoot, thats not an issue, but it would be best if the equipment does not interfere with the "performance" of the group. After the tracking, the video will be imported into pro tools (dv tool kit) and then finalized in Adobe premier by my associate.

Hope this is enough info and again any help is greatly appreciated
