Talking Come here to hear different microphone techniques on Classical Piano!

Some of you may remember in my other thread I talked about uploading different techniques for different composers, well HERE IT IS.

Tonight I will be going back to the hall and taking pictures of all the techniques, hall, etc. I will probably set up my last technique of blum + AB omni and record threw, then switch to MS with my 3 left over mics set up at same time for mid and run threw the music again. That should give us 4 styles and alot to talk about until I have time to go back.

My Equipment:

Lacking but...
2x ADK TL (multipatern omni,card,hypercard,figure-8)
2x Oktava 012 dorsey moded (omni and cardioid capsules)
Mackie 400f
Laptop
Jecklin Disk (homemade)

The Hall:

Size (will find out tonight)
(Will take pictures tonight)

The Piano:

Bosendorfer Model 225 7'4" 92 keys

The techniques:
Tonight I should have time to do the following...
Blumlein + AB Omni
MS (LDC S and SDC Cardioid M)
MS (LDC S and SDC Omni M)
MS (LDC S and LDC Cardioid M)

More techniques to try...
LDC ORTF + SDC omni
SDC ORTF + LDC omni
Jecklin Disc Omnis
XY

Composers:

Chopin
Barber
Hydan
Brahms
Ravel

Obviously I will post measurements for all the techniques, and I am sure there is alot I have missed so feel free to make any suggestions. I hope this will turn out to be a good reference for people to get an idea of what technique to use for what kind of sound they wish to achieve.

Note: I am not a pro, I often use my "gut" to determine how far to place microphones so suggestions form pros is very welcome

Your gut works well. So do your microphones! So what they're not "pedigreed"!

Can't wait to see your pictures.
