Question Madi based fly away remote set up?

Hi alll..
There's a solomun burke concert in a week or three that ill likely be recording..
Crappily, we'll have no big truck available, so i might have to build a preamp/recorder set..
My main recorder is a pyramix with only optical madi, normally connected to the console,
but ill have to get something to interface with my pyramix..
I guess something by rme...
Anyone any experience with this?
I might use three 02r's (old ones) with tdif and a ams\neve tdif to madi converter, as that's something we have,
but obviously, the o2r v2's preamps are, errm, well... they kind of sound like cardboard..

any hints or experiences appreciated!

Not so cardboard as to deny Simon Eadon his Grammy with Takacs using 02r micpres.

Yes, the Beethoven Quartets. He used a !ecklin disc with Schoeps 2S and a TLM170 on the cello.

Fantastic playing and sound.

If it were me I'd look into the SSL Alphalink interface. We use it with a rack of preamps as a 48 track (32 at 96k) front end to our Pyramix via MADI. It is SO cheap considering what it does that there is really nothing else that compares. They sound good, seem to be reliable and are very portable.
All the best,
-mark

Hey there is a company over here that is using RME Micstacy pre's via MADI for remotes! I belive they use a flypacked DAW system as well!

looks quite cool, with the remotecontrolled preamps on stage!

Still waiting for details; amount of channels and so on, but I'll go for either the o2r's or focusrite octopre's>adat out>rme adat to madi converter, which i can rent here in holland..
