Question Flight Cases for studio monitors?

Does anyone know THE place to get good quality, reasonably priced custom flight cases?

I need to get one for a pair of monitors that I can take on road trips. They would be shipped via UPS as well as taken on airplanes.

Thanks,

Johnny B.

There is not "THE" place.

Many outfits make custom flight cases - be prepared to pay a pretty penny for them.

I got an old A/V pop top Anvil ATA that fits my 10's like a glove.

Lucked into it on-bay.

I can recommend Anvil and Caravan and, yeah, it's gonna cost out the wazoo.

Case it or replace it.

If you really want THE best cases I recommend JanAL Cases.
They are out of L.A. and all of the guys with REAL money buy their cases.
Jan Alejandro owns/runs the place and takes EXTREME pride in his product.

He built cases for our Nexo rig and shipped a few cases with incorrect deminsions.
To be fair, the S Series Nexo stuff was brand new at the time and he was given wrong dims. It wasn't his fault, but...
He built proper ones and had them shipped halfway across the U.S. to us within days.
He must have built them on the spot and overnighted them.
We use Anvil and Calzone, but they aren't as good and they make lots of mistakes.
Anvils are better than Calzone, but JanAL are THE best.

JanAl cases are fiberglass over plywood instead of laminate over plywood.
They get scratched a bit easier, but they are still the best cases you can buy.
The hardware and construction is as good as it gets.
The fit of the whole case is perfect!

We buy tons of road cases for our production gear and have been buying JanAl stuff for all of the gear that we only carry in our truck.
We have lots of Anvils that we ship via freight.

JanAl cases look so classy that you look good as soon as the truck is un-loaded!
Our Nexo p.a. is in all WHITE JanAls!
The rig looks good before we even crack open the cases!

Call Jan and tell him what you want and tell him that Danny and Jim from Upstage said that he was THE best.

Look at their website (do a Google search because I forget the URL)
You can see that all of the guys who have baddass racks (touring and studio) have JanAl stuff.

I agree completely. When I lived in LA it seemed that all the musicians were using custom built Jan-Al cases and after watching the cartage guys repeatedly drop them, I can safely assume that they will pretty much stand up to the end of the world.

You might say all that will be left is cockroaches and Jan-Al cases!!!!

Go with the Jan-Al. It will be money well spent.

JanAl is a great company. The other good one in LA is Encore Cases. In North Hollywood and they've made some great custom cases for me. I have a set for my Genelec 1031's that also double as speaker stands. I beat the crap out of them regularly and they still look like they are hardly touched.
