| I'm planning on building myself a small 32 ch passive split snake. My question is has anyone build a mic splitter with the combo XLR/1/4 chassis jacks. Not sure for what yet, but at only a dollar more a connector it seems like it would be a cool thing to have the combo connector for different options. Maybe one input to two recording decks, Main and backup. Anyone have any ideas or some pros and cons. |

| I don't think you really need them for your low-imp mic inputs, but it may be cool for your return channels. You'll only be able to use them on one side of the system since you'll need MXLRs on the other end. Perhaps if you also included line level tie line channel you could use those connectors. Furthermore, it could be cool to buy the dual channel version, but you only can use them one at a time. Meaning you could not feed two recording decks since you can only use either the TRS or XLR at one time. The TRS and XLR soldering points can be isolated or connected together depending on the model number you choose. I designed a patchbay for a buddy of mine that had those connectors. He is able to plug in TRS or XLR depending on the input type.
