Smile would you consider this as your mobile rig !?

hello everybody

since u seen that i sale most of my studio gear (gearsluts sec hand sale )

cuz i travel too much.

i need a good solution like my momently rig but lighter e.

i think forward and backward

what i can do too loose some most common problems

with mobile rigs

mobility v.s cpu power plugs v.s quality e.t.c

iam badly luky with this equipment

macg5 2.5-4gb ram-2 500 gb drives,10000u

-digi hd3 accel pcix -192 interface

pres:telefunken v76-77-78-

mastering and recording : cranesong hedd 48

plugins : waves mercury-mcdsp analogchannel-digi tapesuite-all other digi plugs.

softsynths:arturia-native instruments-gforce-

akai mpd 16.

and much other boxes !

but ..... as i sayd i need a rig just under my 2 arms too work around the world

i consider this after a long hear and desition trial-error

- macbook pro 2.33 -

- magma expansion loaded with protools hd 2- and fast 4 drives x 200 gb 10000

- aurora 8 or apogee 800 (you know just as connection too protools and aux sends )

- prism orpheus for recording analog summing

cuz masalec pres. and best convertors out there.

( i know no aes in this peace of gear so i thinks a spdif too aes digital connector cable will help out )

some points in my desitions:

- i know i could not replace my g5 2.5 ghz dual 4gb

with a powerbook pro 2.33 3 gb

meaby i can use a second macbook connected over lan too power up my disc streaming for large sample librarys !.(havend trd yed but heard and read over solutions)

- some gesrsluts are on the way too bring protools on the cross like jesus

but i work years + with it and wont move yed !

beside the bugs its like you learn you woman in a long way of partnership

trial and error e

now protools make good food how i like and i wash the dishes after that.

ok long enuth written yed , what would you do

i am miss anything here !

too come close for a small high quality setup

lets see patrick

Intriguing question... I've been pondering along the same lines lately. Is your rig mainly for tracking multiple simultaneous tracks, or for mixing & production work? (I'm guessing maybe both!??) What sort of jobs do you plan to be doing with it???

Maybe you would have better luck with your question in the Remote Possibilities in Acoustic Music & Location Recording section of Gearslutz?

metric halo uln8, couple mics with nice cases and mounts (maybe pair km84's, pair 414's), two micstands, headphones, cables, laptop, mpd-16, a toothbrush and some extra socks

oh yeah don't forget the sm57!!

Daniel just said it. Powerbook, ULN8, a hand full of classic mics, Focal CMS40 and the padded bags, SennHD600, done. Don't mess around with unproven stuff.

As much as I like my Aurora 16, I have to agree, The Metric Halo gear is the way to go. I would add a pair of Gefel M930's, (small, fairly robust, yet large diaphragm mics), Schoeps Mk4's and at least one true figure 8 mic...either a dual capsule or a large ribbon. (The isolation you get off-axis from a Figure 8 mic is really useful, especially in the field) and a good shotgun or 2.... Sennheiser MKH60 or 416. And SM 57's or Beta 57's. very handy. You will also need REALLY GOOD HEADPHONES!!!!!!

Regards;
Danny
