Question U.K. mic splits...

In the U.K. it seems very difficult to purchase passive mic splits
without spending an absolute fortune.

I have tried the T racks Split it's and they are totally useless
(The build quality looks excellent) but they impart a HF hash on any
split dynamic mic signal, totally unuseable.

Does Anybody know where to buy good value passive splits
4 in a 1u rack in the UK or Europe.

I have 1 Horizon MS1 which works great but not possible to get the MS4
in europe so all the massive import duties and VAT apply if ordering from the states.

I have searched online for a long time for these and I have had no joy at all.

I do not want to make them myself.

Thanks

(Sorry, not much help but...) Are you looking for splitters with transformers? What do you think of the arguments at MSX4 Active Mic Splitters Tech Note ?

Thanks for replying but these are neither available in the U.K. or within
budget.

Passive splits is what I am after with transformers and dcenet ones
that don't cost more than my preamps and mics are nigh on impossible to find.

thanks

Have you consider buying a used one from the States?

I know exactly what you mean XLR2XLR.

Drop orchid-electronics.co.uk a mail and see what they can do for you.

Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

Hi used would be a bit of a gamble I can feel, though thanks for the tip.

I found Orchid and spoke to the man Friday, seems a nice chap, but they are not
particularly good value, not bad, but not great.

Really? I thought the 8 channel rack for £210 was good value. Good quality transformers always cost money.

Good luck and let us know how the search goes.

Impossible to know without having specs, could be anything in there

They are probably just fine.

Cheers

We use the Klark Teknik active splits (12 ch)...they may cost more but you have more options(transformer & elec balanced splits..plus ability to phantom & add 30db gain if required..great units....
