Question Battery powered headphones amp?

I need a portable headphone amp, not expensive, under 60 Euro or so. Better sounding posible, and battery powered. Any idea? Maybe any pcb from DIY sellers?

Could have in account a DAC/headphone setup for more money if it´s worth.

Electronic parts stores usually have those small amp module IC's. They are about the simplest thing to build - just wire up your input and output jacks, battery, switch and pot. It would be the ideal first project, and you get to choose all the parts - which means you can buy the decent stuff, gold 1/4" jacks or whatever.

HeadWize - A Resource Site for Headphones and Headphone Listening.

The pimeta and it's cousins are all very good and can be built for under $20.

I have the AKG k-141, and a Scope Home Pci card with analog and Spdif outputs.
What would you improve first, the DAC, the phones amp or the headphones?

Do you think I could improve my headphones, maybe buy a decent DA or maybe will be right with a decent headphones amp? I want clean monitoring for studio recording. Want to put fell "inside" the sound field the best posible.
